Sutter County Children & Families Commission is accepting applications for membership to serve on the Advisory Committee to our Commission. The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to serve as a “think tank” for the Commission to research issues and gather information on items of interest as established by the Commission. Each year the Commission will identify an issue or a set of issues that the Advisory Committee can address. The Commission will seek to appoint the most qualified subject matter experts in the community to study and make recommendations on the identified topics of interest.
2015-2016 Topic of Interest: Contract Monitoring Review
Qualifications: The members must be residents of or work within Sutter County at the time of appointment. Members must have a professional interest in, or personal commitment to, the needs and interests of young children and their families.
Term: Appointment to the Advisory Committee will for a one-year term.
Membership Restrictions: To avoid potential conflict of interest, the staff or board members of agencies that directly receive funds from the Commission will be ineligible for appointment.
The members of the Advisory Committee serve without compensation, but may be reimbursed for any actual and necessary expenses in connection with their duties with the prior approval of the Executive Director.
Commitment: Membership on the Advisory Committee will require a commitment of time and effort. Members will be expected to:
- Attend scheduled and called Advisory Committee meetings;
- Keep updated on Sutter County Children and Families Commission activities;
- Study the background materials provided by the Commission, and;
- Participate in the topic discussions and provide advice and recommendations to the Commission.
