Lessons Learned

Lessons Learned invites early educators to participate in six sessions of professional development.   The outcomes for participants is to increase the early educators knowledge, skills and disposition by providing resources to advance developmentally appropriate daily lesson plans with a focus in early literacy in their program.

The goal of Lessons Learned is to address the Sutter County Children and Families Commission Strategic Plan for Improving Child Development by increasing the number of educational opportunities for early educators through a Commission-funded curriculum training project.

During the six sessions of Lessons Learned, early educators will develop an understanding of developmental milestones of young children, knowledge of effective instructional practices for young learners, familiarity with early childhood art curricula, and an appreciation for young children’s desire for exploration, self-expression and creativity, and strategies for incorporating art in their daily lesson planning.
